Is love really a gift worth fighting for,
Or is that merely what we want to think?
What if it turns out he was with some whore
And the relationship begins to sink?
His gift of love is now a Trojan Horse
Attacking from the deep depths of your heart
Betrayal, like the flu, must run its course
Sinking in like the poison of a dart.
But somehow its worth taking a slight chance
To hear those three simple words “I love you”
And feel his arms around you and his hands
When times get tough he’s there to help you through.
