Film Review of Easy Rider

Film Review of "Easy Rider"

On the movie Easy Rider, Peter Fonda played a character that was known as Captain America. Some might say that his behavior in the movie was immoral. But I would have to say he’s character’s behavior was very moral. What is moral and immoral?

Captain America wanted the American dream or should I say his own view of the American dream. Everyone has his or her own concept of the so-called good life. Mr. Fonda dream was to enjoy life and to take life for one long ride. Weather it was sex, drugs, and rock and roll or even going to church and becoming priest. This movie took place in the late 1960’s when most people were having sex doing drugs and listen to rock and roll and also when a war was going on which I believe should have never occurred. Many people were questioning life itself and the ideal life. I think Peter Fonda was just playing a role that was really occurring in the real world during that time. When they locked up Captain American and his friend Mr. Bill, the towns that they were at was very conservative and was disturb by the unfamiliar. For example at the restaurant the only people who found them attractive were the girl and they were young. I think Captain America was a moral person because he did what he thought felt moral to him not what society said was moral. I think if the movie was produced today with Johnny Depp or Jay Hernandez and had the exact same idea of Easy Rider we wouldn’t ask ourselves if there character are moral or immoral I only wish I could be this free-spirited as Captain American.

I think in today’s world Captain American behavior would be more excepted than in the late 1960’s and I think the his behavior is moral because he was moral to himself and life is short live it to the fullest.
