Review of the Book "Companies with a Conscience"

Review of the Book "Companies with a Conscience"

This book is appropriate for any person related to business. The book deals with environmental issues and it would be great for business owners or people involved in running a business to read the novel. It might give them a sense of environmental awareness and help them make their company more environmentally friendly. The book also talks about businesses who donate to charity and that might give some business owners ideas along the same lines. This book is also appropriate for people who enjoy reading about business success stories because the book talks mainly about successful businesses. The Novel is appropriate for schools as well, and should be taught and studied in business courses to ensure that future business owners take the right steps to make their company safe for the environment. Any person interested in business or related to business would be appropriate for this novel.

I enjoyed reading the book. The novel was a lot more interesting than I expected. I liked how the author’s studied real businesses and used real case studies to write the book. It gives the reader a better sense of how to be more environmentally conscience. I also like the book because it sends the message to business owners to be environmentally friendly and businesses might become more aware of the less fortunate and are fragile environment.

I didn’t like the fact that the book only mentioned and studied successful businesses. Every business they talked about portrayed the business that starts off ruff and comes through in a big way, such as Ben and Jerry’s Homemade Inc. and Patagonia Inc. All these business put faith in being more environmentally friendly and charity-giving and were rewarded. It doesn’t talk about businesses who did the same and failed so the book is somewhat bias and I think that is a weakness. The book should have included some examples of business that have failed and studied why they did not succeed.
