Constitutional Convention

Man I hate fire, it slowly burns me down until I am into a pile of myself, bound to destruction. I am a very old candle, one of many in this spacious room. I remember my maker saying that I was going to be in the Independence Hall, Philadelphia, and I have been here ever since. The year was 1787 I believe, yes . . . 1787.
Recently I had been hearing with my waxy ears that there was a convention originally scheduled for the 14th of May to be held in the Independence hall, but unfortunately due to weather constraints it had to be postponed to May 25th, which was the date most memorable among the thoughts of a worn out candle.
First thing that I noticed was all doors and windows were shut tight, I believe it was to avoid peeping toms and listeners. They immediately lit me and began there discussion. Everyone was very excited to begin. First thing that happened was that President Washington took a stand and they all vowed an oath of secrecy. I was in awe of the 54 delegates in this, now tightly cramped, room. Among the 54 delegates stood the infamous Benjamin Franklin, and of course James Madison.
After the first day the row of meetings that followed seemed endless. At first there seemed to be two major plans: The Virginia Plan and the New Jersey Plan. The Virginia plan called up for a government to contain three branches, while the New Jersey Plan called for a one-house legislature. Fortunately on June 19th the New Jersey Plan was rejected and the convention members began considering the Virginia plan once more.
Later on in there huge arguments, a big debate came over the balance of larger states to smaller states. Delegates were confused on how to give an equal and fair representation of smaller states to larger states. I could never forget this day. All of a sudden Roger Sherman of Connecticut slapped me over onto the floor as he jumped with his great idea to propose a two house legislature that would allow for both equal representations for both states.
