Uploaded by Kemos1 on Dec 14, 2020

Divergent is a novel first of the Divergent trilogy. A series of young adult dystopian novel set in a Divergent Universe. The novel Divergent features a post-apocalyptic version of Chicago and follows main character Beatrice "Tris" as she explores her identity within a society that defines its citizens by their social and personality related affiliation with five factions, which removes the threat of anyone exercising independent will and re-threatening the population's safety.

'The struggle between the ideals of middle-class family formation and more fatalistic conceptions of family life is in part a struggle between groups in our society with divergent conceptions of rational, purposeful behavior.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Tris and one of her instructors Nicknamed Four.

Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are and where, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, more so might help her save those she loves ... Or it might destroy her.

If u like The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, perfect for fans of the Hunger Games and Maze Runner series, Divergent and its sequels, Insurgent and Allegiant, are the gripping story of a dystopian world transformed by courage, self-sacrifice, and love. Due to its similar themes target audience. In particular, the novel explores the themes common to young adult fiction, such as adult authority and the transition from childhood to maturity, as well as such broader motifs as the place of violence and social structures within a post-apocalyptic society. Its major plot device, the division of society into personality types, is one used in other science fiction works. Fans of the Divergent movie will find the book packed with just as much emotional depth and exhilarating action as the film, all told in beautiful, rich language.
