Economic Analysis of Framce

Economic Analysis of Framce

France is the largest Western European nation in terms of size and economy. They are part of almost all UN organizations and many other non-UN organizations, only one of which is the World Trade Organization (WTO). They are also part of The European Union (EU). France holds a permanent seat on the Security Council as well as being a charter member of the UN. They have paid all of their assessments and have been an active member in almost every decision made. France has striven to become a trading partner with the world and is enormously successful. They do most of their trading with the EU but do not limit themselves. Their other main trading partners include Japan, Russia, and the U.S.

France has a highly socialistic economy. The government owns most of the health care field, a large part of the industrial sector, and work very close with the agricultural resources. The state spends roughly 55% of the Gross Domestic Product on these fields. France holds the spot of leading agricultural producer in Western Europe. We are almost completely self-sufficient in agriculture and our industrial sector generates one fourth of our GDP.

We are the fourth largest contributor to the UN and have paid our assessments on time and have no more debt. We have also contributed voluntarily. France has contributed peacekeeping forces and is number one in that area. We often take a part in mediations in conflicts.

France has been very active in unifying Europe. We were one of the first members of the EU and were part of other integrationist groups before then. Our goal was to achieve a free trade area and become economically secure, which is vital to the stability and security of Europe.
