GCU Mission and Vision Statements

Uploaded by CaseyP on Oct 13, 2016

The Grand Canyon University mission and vision statements are designed in such a way that they help students achieve their personal, professional and educational goals. For instance, my personal mission is attaining the goal of getting my degree, and the university helps by having a mission that is centered on providing an academically challenging environment and a value-based curriculum that is derived from the context of Christianity. The school also helps me focus on my studies without any interruptions through instilling the importance of education from the very beginning.
My professional mission in life is to obtain advancement in my career field and possibly own a company one day. Achieving such a mission needs the help of the university as well. In connection to this, its curriculum is designed to prepare the students acquire necessary skills that are required and demanded in the job market. The university's mission also states that all students are challenged to develop the necessary skills and to accelerate their reasonable limits to thrive in their chosen career. My dream of owning a company one day can only be realized if I work hard enough and develop the necessary skills that are stated in the university mission. By helping the students to develop themselves through elements of accountability and compassion, the university also ensures that it prepares the students for future engagements in their respective job markets.
My third mission is the attainment of my education goals by managing my time well and staying motivated throughout my stay at the university. The components of the Grand Canyon University help me achieve my educational goals by advocating for all students to live a Christian life or a life that is guided by Christian heritage. The university also challenges students to be effective communicators and critical thinkers; such attributes help them achieve their educational goals.
