Lab Report on Cell Biology

Lab Report on Cell Biology

I made my cell project by myself. It took me 1 day to build it. I made the Mitochondria out of a dark blue glass squiggle, I made the Vacuole out of a light blue glass squiggle, I made the Golgi Complex out of a dark red string of yarn, and the Lysosomes were made out of a light blue pebble. I made the Endoplasmic Reticulum out of bubble tape, the Ribosomes were made from purple marker marks on the bubble tape, the Cytoplasm was made out of Styrofoam, and the Nucleus, Nucleolus, and Nuclear Membrane out of soft clay.

The Endoplasmic Reticulum breaks down drugs and certain other chemicals that could harm the cell; it can also move substances from one place to another. ATP is produced in the Mitochondria, we breath because the Mitochondria needs oxygen, it also haves two membranes, and the Mitochondria is called the powerhouse of a cell. The Lysosomes digest food particles, wastes, cell parts, and foreign invaders. Vacuoles store water and other materials. Ribosomes are the site where amino acids are hooked together to make proteins. The Golgi Complex processes and transports materials out of a cell. The Nucleus contains the cells DNA and is called the control center of a cell. The Cytoplasm is the cellular fluid surrounding cells organelles. The Cell Membrane is there to keep the Cytoplasm inside. The Nucleolus is located in the center of the Nucleus; it stores the materials that will be used later to make Ribosomes in the Cytoplasm. The Nuclear Membrane holds the DNA and Nucleolus in. And Chromatin are genes or DNA.

Cellular Respiration is when light energy goes into a system, cellular work is performed, and elements are recycled then heat flows out. The Mitochondria use cellular respiration to release energy. A lot of energy is stored in the form of ATP. Cellular respiration is like breathing. Breathing rids your body of carbon dioxide, which is a waste product of cellular respiration.
