Origin of the Eagle
One day a young boy out playing in the woods spotted a huge bird. The bird having a six feet wing span swooped down onto a near by branch, as to assume authority over the wood lands. Maintaining its’ posture, the great and beautiful bird look straight into the boy’s eyes, spawning a question:” “Where did this come from?”
Later that night the boy still sparkling with curiosity met with his mother in hopes of answering his question. “Mother, where did this great bird spawn from?” In reply his mother answered,” “Ah the mighty eagle, my young son, let me tell you of how it became…”
“Many years before our time, there was a great Indian Chief. The great chief was huge in stature, standing at least 7ft tall. He also had the muscles of a bear, able to crush a mans’ skull in one hand. This great chief also has a very insightful eye watching every little fight within his tribe and others, preparing himself for altercations. As the chief was watchful, he was also wise. He understood how to deal with others problems, creating a peace through out the land. As he had many attributes for a great chief, none of his attributes compared to his most favored among tribesmen, his hunting ability. The great chief was able to spot a moving deer a mile a way. Making it very easy for the tribe to prosper through out the land.”
“Unfortunately everyone has an expiration date in which they must leave to the spirit realm to be reincarnated, and one day the great chief expired in the face of the gods. While he sat in the house of our great sun god, he and the Sun god could not come up with what the great chief should become. The great chief and the sun god finally came up to the conclusion that no animal could ever represent what the great chief became, so they created a new animal, the eagle.”
The eagle is one of the most insightful hunters, choosing his prey with his watchful eye, then gracefully swooping down to kill his prey with ease. The eagle has become an icon of strength and power, as was the great chief and this is why the eagle was created.
