This article talks about the interesting religion called, “Buddhism”. The article talks about the history of Buddhism and how it was founded. The article is a very detailed article which makes reading the article very understandtable. Buddhism was founded in the forth or fifth century B.C. in northern India by a man known as Siddhartha Guatama, the son of a warrior prince. This article talks about Gautema’s life, he was troubled by the inevitability of suffering in human life, he left home and a pampered life at the age of 29 to wander as an ascetic, seeking religious insight and a solution to the struggles of human existence. This article talks about Gautema’s teachings and how it differed from the Hindu faith prevalent in India at the time. Gautema’s had Four Noble Truths. The first was that all living beings suffer, the origin of this suffering is desire-for material possessions, power, and son on, desire can be overcome, and the last Noble Truth is that there is a path that leads to release from desire. The article talks about the concept of anatman (that a person has no actual self) and the idea that existence is characterized by impermanence. My thoughts about this article are that it is a well organizes and detailed article. I like this article because it gives a lot of interesting facts about what is “Buddhism”. From reading this article I have learned a lot about this religion “Buddhism”. Also, from reading this article I learned how people who are part of this religion practice worshipping their Gods and festivals, and feasts that hey have. Reading this article has mad me more understanding about this religion well-know religion because they have an interesting history.
