A fictional description an encounter between Byron, Shelley, Keats, Coleridge, and Wordsworth in which they meet a young girl in the woods is described. As a reaction to her sudden presence and equally hasty departure each poet composes a verse relevant to the experience and upon the girl's return she selects the man with the most accurate depiction of the experiences. This tale illustrates the similarities and differences that exist among the quintet of poets and provides a deeper understanding of their prose and distinctions between their individual styles.
