Few rights protected in the U.S. Constitution are harder to define and agree on than the right to free speech. This paper focuses on hate speech in particular, citing the 1990 case of a cross burned in the yard of a black couple in St. Paul, Minnesota. Examines different issues. Do Americans have the right to hate other Americans, and to say so in word and deed? The case made it to the Supreme Court.This paper has five pages and four sources are listed in the bibliography.
