Two Literary Portrayals of Racism and Oppression

This paper offers a discussion that answers the question of whether or not a caste system that is racist in nature can be perpeturated through the use of force alone, taking into account the idea that an oppressed people are sufficiently numerous to resist this oppression and overthrow it. This write argues that the dynamics of oppression are both economic and psychological in origin, and supports this asrgument by referring to Richard Wright's Black Boy and Anne Moody's Coming of Age in Mississippi.
