Rights of Fathers in the UK

Uploaded by : Essays-Now.com

In six pages this paper considers the rights of fathers in the United Kingdom within the context of this 2005 statement by The Right Honourable Lord Justice Wall, 'Unless there are cogent reasons against it, the children of separated parents are entitled to know and have the love and society of both their parents. In particular, the courts recognise the vital importance of the role of non-resident fathers in the lives of their children and only make orders terminating contact when there is no alternative. There are, of course, cases where such an order is forced on a judge by the intransigent conduct of the children's mother.' Five sources are listed in the bibliography.
