A 9 page paper discussing different types of information systems that might be in use in a single organization. Organizations contain several types of information systems, each of which has its own particular value to the organization. Management Information Systems (MIS) and Decision Support Systems (DSS) are terms that are often used interchangeably, or MIS is given a broader meaning than it actually should have. Though the purpose of each is to lead managers to make better and more effective decisions, there are differences between these two complementary systems.
