To look at alternative methods in any capacity is to consider the possibilities that exist beyond the traditional and often outdated in an effort to incorporate the innovative and new. Along with these shifts in perspective oftentimes comes a lesser associated cost but a greater return on the investment, as well as a watershed moment with regard to enacting a social change response, which is the case with such alternative approaches to educating special needs individuals as recreational therapy, peer tutoring, tailored homework and dramatic play.
