In the hospital environment infection control is very important. This 17 page paper looks at an aspect of infections control that is often overlooked; the use and treatment of non dedicated equipment, such as scissors and stethoscopes. The paper looks at how and why this type of equipment can pose a cross infection risk and needs to be subject to policy and procedures to prevent the spread of infection.
