Chopin, Pianist & Teacher

Uploaded by : Essays-Now.com

A 5 page research paper that focuses on the career of Frederic Chopin (1810-1849), who was one of the romantic era’s most original composers, as his musical idiom was unlike any other (Machlis 84). Furthermore, he was the only major composer of this era whose genius was completely centered on the piano, as Chopin’s “imagination was wedded to the keyboard” and he created his “universe within that narrow frame” (Machlis 84). This examination of Chopin as a pianist and as a teacher demonstrates the extraordinary influence that his life and career had on subsequent generations of composers, but particularly within the realm of the piano.
