Upgrading the Network at Riordan

Uploaded by : Essays-Now.com

A 9 page paper discussing Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP for Riordan's upcoming network operating system upgrade. Users' computers will retain XP for reasons detailed in the paper. Windows Server 2003 is the favored choice for network upgrade at present. Though the Vista system (Longhorn, Windows Server 2008) ultimately will provide greater functionality, it will not be available as anything but Longhorn Beta 3 until early 2008. Judging from Microsoft's past performance it will take at least two years for the Windows Server 2008 to become as reliable and predictable as the company claims it is. At that time Riordan can upgrade to the Windows Server 2008 that may well have another name by that time. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
