Comparing Windows Vista to Linux

A 15 page paper comparing Windows Vista operating system and Linux. Judging from Microsoft's past performance it will take at least two years for the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 to become as reliable and predictable as the company claims it is. For its part, Linux is more suitable for more technically-oriented users and administrators. For those who possess the technical knowledge, however, Linux is a much more economical choice and reduces total cost of ownership, both in purchase price and in costs of ownership over time. The OS that is "best" for a specific user depends, as always, on the user's needs in the present and anticipated future, as well as on the user's level of technical knowledge and ability.
