The chasm that exists between how Hollywood portrays human development and the way it is in reality is sometimes as wide as the Sahara Desert with the entertainment industry relying too much upon embellishment rather than fact. Examining adolescence, middle adulthood and late adulthood through the eyes of Hollywood's perspective, one can clearly see the poetic license filmmakers take with developmental factors when the ultimate objective is for the purpose of amusement or exaggeration.
