The influence of Francisco de Haro on San Francisco

Before California within the hands of the Americans, it was a Mexican territory, with the Mexican soldier Francisco de Haro being tasked with laying out a pueblo, and being elected democratically as the first Alcade, a role which is broadly equivalent to that of mayor. This three page paper looks at the life of de Haro and the way in which his influence can be seen in modern San Francisco. Four sources are cited in the bibliography this three page paper.
