Three Early Family Therapy Theorists

Three family early family theorists/therapists are discussed in this report: Virginia Satir, Carl Whitaker, and Salvador Minuchin. Each of these theorists was an innovator and each greatly contributed to the field of family therapy. Satir is credited with beginning family therapy and she did offer the first processes related to this therapy. Whitaker brought experiential family therapy to the forefront and Minuchin launched structured family therapy. Each of their theories is explained with key points, tenets, beliefs, concepts, and practice. There are twelve sources listed in the bibliography of this twelve page paper.
