The prevalence of obesity has increased across the world over the last three decades. Effective programs to curb and prevent overweight and obesity among children and adolescents continue to be a health priority because of the adverse impact on health and quality of life during childhood. The EPODE program has been effective in reducing childhood obesity in more than 20 countries. This research proposal is based on adopting the EPODE program in one community with a neighboring community acting as control.
