Since the 1990s, information systems have played a key role in managing the functions of this division. Today, human resource information systems (HRIS) have been adopted to improve productivity of the human resource function. HRIS is able to do many of the tedious tasks of the HR function as it improve productivity making the HR function even more important to the company. This paper explains HRIS, components, how it can help keep a company in compliance with the many laws, the major components of an effective HRIS, and human resource planning.
