COMMUNTIY SOUTH MEDICAL CENTER 1
In this paper, being the CEO of the Community South Medical Center, I feel like the
strategic mission should be revised. The Community South Medical Center is located in an older
urban area, with other businesses, and is growing to be a predominately elder population. The
compliance of the T.J.C. standards has been declining. In the center, there are new programs that
the staff is supporting, and the staff of physicians is in abundant supply. There is things like the
clinic staff shortage, there is the non-interfacing information technology systems, antiquated
facilities and infrastructure, that needs to be addressed, along with a shift to its financial mix.
The careful assessment of the aging person’s perception of their health, and be educated of the
safety factors affecting their health, this is a very important part of primary care. Handling the
elder population needs to be addressed and the plans to meet the challenges would be a strategic
plan.
As the CEO of the Community South Medical Center, I would be confronting the
shortage of clinical staff, which includes the register nurses, the medical technologies, and the
respiratory therapists are one of the major issues that need to be covered. Through the SWOT
analysis, the strengths of the Community South Medical Center is it has comprehensive health
services, these are the acute care, residential care, independent living, in-home nursing, hospice,
neonatal, plus pediatric services, the advanced cardiac services, there is a major trauma center, a
great center for the pulmonary services, and a neurosurgery center (Instructor, 2012). Due to the
shortages of the clinic, the expansion of jobs could be considered the strength. The next goal as
the CEO, is to consider to advertise in newspapers, on television, and Professional journals, and
private recruitment about the retainment of new talent, and to recruit and hire. By having new
talent it would bring new ideas and innovations to the plate. This would be a positive external
input for the medical center and the community.

As the CEO, I would implement the preliminary reviews and analysis of the candidates,
based on their applications, and check their references, and their past employment history, and
how the past employer thought about the candidate. With the candidate, I would use several
factors...
